Corner Of The Bedroom.

Well l FINALLY have a dress form....l know everyone else has had theirs for YEARS and  you'll be thinkin' l'm a bit SLOW on the uptake, which might be a fair cop:-) but l'd been holding out to find one of those gorgeous old antique one's and l HAVE come across a few, but they all cost a fortune, PLUS a kidney.
So l realised it was NEVER gonna happen and kinda "sold out" to buy this NEW one, but it does have that vintage look, it came with the lovely crown and wasn't too spendy, so l figured it'd make a great Anniversary present....and is much prettier than the 10 litres of  motorbike oil hubby requested as HIS present. The BIG bonus for him though is that he gets to enjoy BOTH presents, since it stands on HIS side of the bed....all he said was, it's weird that something without a head is wearing a crown.....he's just not gettin' it is he...haha!!

My cousin gave me this old bustier/corset a couple of years ago which fits well enough....added a tulle skirt, beaded belt, antique lace collar and vintage enamelled jewellery. The earrings were simply clipped onto the crown.

Also found a Frenchy style pin board at the opshop and hung it above the bedside table for the photos.

Sweet old 50's quilt adds a bit of shabby.

Just wanted to say thanks too for the lovely wedding congrats everyone and l'm so happy you's enjoyed sharing our wedding day story:-)

Wishing you all a fun, sunshiny weekend.

Til next time,

Bron.

  1. I'm laughing so hard at your hubby's comment about something without a head wearing a crown:) I'm pretty sure that would freak Kyran out too! I have mixed feelings about dress forms, they scare me a bit but I like yours because it's on a stand:) The way you've dressed it up is so lovely!

I am in LOVE with your night stand! Is it actual glass? It's gorgeous yet still very shabby chic! Reminds me of the look of Pamela Anderson's home in RA's newest book!

We're in the midst of what we call March Madness here, aka college basketball play off week so seeing all your loveliness is really nice!!!

  2. This is just lovely! I would love to have a dress form to play with too but unlike the going trend I think I would prefer to have a pretty new one than the antique ones that I have seen. :) Yours is just beautiful! I love the tulle skirt and pretty jewels. Happy Anniversary!

  7. Oh she's Lovely, Congratulations! And I had to Smile about hubby's comment about headless Dress Forms wearing Crowns... The Man cannot understand why I put Tiaras and Feminine Bling on the MALE Taxidermy when I Pimp them out either... they just don't get it. *winks* My Antique Dress Form Collection has come slowly too but now I have an envious Hoard of them... if you keep seeking they will come... ha ha ha... but you are right, typically they do cost an arm and a leg... and perhaps that kidney too. *winks* Happy Spring... I always Feel Spring within the Imagery of your Beautiful Home and Color Palette! Dawn... The Bohemian

  9. Result! What a great find ... and the crown topper is fab. I love how you have 'dressed' it. I used to have a dress form but sold it some years ago and have regretted it ever since. M x
